A brand identity and positioning roll out that created a feast for the eyes and palate! Protein designed, illustrated and produced a complete brand suite for Brisbane high fashion eaterie, Spring.
The brief: “Can you create a logo that communicates our passion and love for seasonal Australian foods; it has to be sophisticated without losing a sense of fun and energy… and can it be ready for the launch of a new and highly original food emporium that will open within a few months?!”
Deep breath – of course we could. We love a challenge we can get our teeth into, so literally sprung into action.
We looked at the agrarian food that the eatery offered and researched styles from the Victorian era. Something that would compliment the high tea meets rustic produce environment.
Creatively we always ask ourselves challenging questions: what would it look like if Laura Ashley met Apple. We created something that was equally at home on a glossy brochure, fashionable apron or quality food product.
We treated the execution of the brand materials as though we were fine dining. Each aspect was carefully thought out, from colour schemes to finishes. This was a brand that really deserved to be looked at in detail.
We produced a brand that would always be in fashion, never out of style. From gilded gates to etched glass, the identity had to communicate to the audience that they were eating somewhere special. Full of flavour, suitably seasoned.
“All farmhouse tables, white plantation shutters, mirrors, white marble, glass and crisp-as-a-new-banknote linen tea-towel napkins, Spring has a breezy, Ralph Lauren-ish, Noosa-darling kind of thing about it that won’t offend anyone. But in making sure the graphic design is just so, the crockery is in suitable pastel colours and the rustic little ironstone dishes have just the right amount of farmhouse France about them…”
