The Brief :

Protein were approached by best-selling UK author Marina Fiorato to create an identity site for her profile and new book launches.

Marina was looking for an identity and website that would be wholly unique in the marketplace. The site also required a user-friendly CMS solution.

The Concept :

To begin with, we decided to create a master design for Marina's own name. Her name, personality and creative flair is exuberant.

So - we worked an illustration with Rodina Tabnak to encorporate all the elements of Marina's books and her trademark, vine-like hair into a renaissance like motif.

Marina's books are set in renaissance Italy so we took this inspiration to create a website that felt like it was from the same era.

The Result :

Marina's website is a one-of-a-kind vision, with the graphic detail as layered as the stories with which she fills her pages.

Marina now has an identity and website which transports her audience immediately into the same arena as her characters.

Marina also updates the site with Contribute and maintains her own blog that links to the site. The site also acts as a news portal for her fans to find reviews and, most importantly, to find places to buy her books!

The Result :

Marina was a film extra before she became a writer and has, at different times, played Rupert Everett's whore, Keith Allen's wife, and Hugh Laurie's boss!
